This original village house, tucked away in a narrow street on the outskirts of the village of Xaghra, has been beautifully converted into very comfortable accommodation with modern features, yet retains all of its original character and charm. Once an agricultural estate belonging to a noble Florentine family, the six apartments of La Papessa have been beautifully restored and comfortably furnished, with traditional style and elegance. La Papessa is part of Fattoria Montecchio, an extensive property comprising over 50 acres of private vineyards and olive groves and even housing its own terracotta works.
La Papessa is set on the outskirts, and within walking distance, of the pretty and well-known medieval village of San Donato in Poggio, which has small shops and restaurants. The apartments of La Papessa share a large swimming pool and small children’s pool, together with a solarium, which are set among olive groves and there is also a large BBQ and wood burning outdoor oven for clients’ use. The park, vineyards and the rich red earth, visible from every corner of this beautiful complex, reflect the true colours of the beautiful Tuscan landscape.
Each apartment is different in its layout and is located on either the ground or first floor of the various farm buildings. Each has air-conditioning and a safe and is very comfortable. Car hire is essential and there is private parking for residents.

An excellent situation for a family holiday with the port and sandy beach 15 minutes walk and plenty of restaurants close by. Golf fairways are within 500m although the entrance is 2km. Good range of shops and supermarket in Mandelieu. Designer boutiques and nightlife in Antibes and Cannes. Wide variety of water sports all along the coast towards Cannes. Traditional terraced house in a gated, older style ‘residence’ of just 20 privately owned properties with electric entry gates and allocated parking space. Good for families with children, with a large and very attractive communal pool (about 30 metres from the house) with grassy sunbathing area and a tennis court.
